Oil lubes work well but break down condoms if you wear one. Oil lubes take longer to work their way out of you too. You can also use Crisco.

because the latex is soluble (like most other macromolecules) in non polar solvents, like the oils and slack waxes (aka paraffins or alkanes) that are used in non water-based lubricants.
