Yes I had a freind who met someone face to face in the Vitenam War. He brought her home and they have been married 30 something years. They Met face to face, Not on the internet. I don't know why people just trust this sort of thing.
I would be very cautious, that they just wanted to leave their country, not for love but just to get out. Of course if I was in China I might do the same thing.
My friend taught his wife everything she need to know. She is also very submissive, if you know what I mean.

I don`t think language is a problem, if she really loves him (and she`s not marring just because her life at China sucks) she`ll adapt and they`ll be as happy as they can be.
The cultural differences are hard to get used to, but people can change for the one they love. Learning English will, indeed, be needed from her side if she expects to live in the UK and just fit with her husband-to-be`s life.

If the love is strong enough. I mean, it will be hard due to the language barrier, english is very different from chinese, and then there is the cultural clash. It will be very hard. if you like a challenge, go for it.

i suggest he goes to classes and learns some chinese and they bring up their children to be completely bi-lingual; easy if they both speak their own language to them. ALso, get him to take her out and about a lot so she getsused to speaking to people . If he has patience till she learns the language there will notbe a problem.

It is customary to marry amongst people with common background to avoid such problems. Let him learn the hard way.
