PMS is not a myth. The problem is that some women do not suffer from it, therefore they judge others who suffer from it. Each body is unique, that is why you will have various degrees of PMS: some will not feel anything, some a little and some more.
That is all.

I've met people who think PMS is a myth - people of bothh sexes.
Yes, some people like to milk the attention or the excues it gives them for various kinds of behaviour.
But it's a real enough complaint.
I think those who deny it are just speaking from a position of ignorance. They presumably have not suffered from it.
A lot of the causes of PMS concern diet and lifestyle, which is not to say that this means that if you suffer PMS it's all your own fault! There are a number of aspects of modern living which make it quite hard to be nutritionally up to scratch. When people do learn about the nutritional causes they quite often think that one product is going to cure it, e.g. taking vitamin B or Evening Primrose oil.
These may well help, but a more holistic view is needed.
There's also a strand of thinking that some of PMS is quite empowering. The time leading up to your period can be a time of extra energy and power. If that spills over into irritability or aggression it may partly be owing to your life circumdstances being too frustrating! I have some sympathy for that view.
But anything more than a mild increase in energy and irritability probably points to nutritional causes.
The Koi Sahn of the Kalahari desert (bush people) used to not suffer from PMS according to something I read.

Some girls/women handle symptoms much better than others. No one wants to look bad, unless they are depressed. As far as attention goes, there are plenty of other ways to gain attention. And no, it is not the power of suggestion.
Hormones are going haywire during that time period, and right when menstruation starts, the uterus is literally contracting causing the cramping.
No, PMS is not a myth. Just wait till this person hits peri-menopause, she'll realize none of the things women's bodies endure are just stories, they are the real deal.

PMS is very real. While some women may use it as an excuse, the symptoms are there. The body begins to retain water before menses, which puts pressure on the vital organs including the brain. This combined with the fluxuation of hormones can cause fatigue, bloating, migrain headaches, back pain, premenstural cramping, and mood swings. Any one who says it isn't real is indeed fortunate not to have symptoms that disrupt their lives. Women who are active are more likely to experience PMS without severe symptoms. Exercise releases endorphines that help to relieve not only symptoms of PMS, but of the entire menstrual cycle.

some women human beings get PMS and some do not. that is probable an interplay of hormones, genetics, and ecosystem. indications decision. What do you advise by "abused?" some women human beings have a extreme adequate variety of PMS that they want to take drugs to circumvent them from assaulting human beings. some boyfriends use the time period "abuse" to point having a sharper way of talking than time-honored. If I snarl at human beings because i'm having a nasty day for inspite of reason, I in many situations say sorry.

Well, I'm sure that girl is a brilliant research doctor and has made a major breakthrough of some sort in the field of women's medicine BUT all the other gynecologists in the world disagree with her. Hormones are very powerful. Just look at what steriods can do for you men. Is that "all in your heads"? Fluctuations in female hormones can be just as powerful.

PMS is indeed very real. I've never heard of anyone that thought what that girl said. Sounds to me like she was misguided.

That girl was obviously thinking of the other P.M.S. (Putting up with Mens ****) but the other (PreMenstralSyndrome) is certainly for real, and as that girl gets older she will have to take that remark back.
So if your a male please treat us girls with a little kindness at that time of the month.
