how come is it that when 100 blacks walk down the street screaming "black power, black pride" we are not alowed to say a word, except for "thats nice". but when 100 white people do the same thing, screaming "white power white pride" we are considered racist.

Of course Loving Resistance Whatever conjures up the long dead past to justify the black South Africans' racist government.

You're absolutely correct - it's a racist double standard that also exists here in the USA.

South Africa is still a polarized society because of our recent history and this will not vanish over night, it's going to take a long time to heal the country and the future generations will benefit for obvious reasons. A example i use is that 60yrs after the war the Germans still live with the collective guilt of the holocaust who are we to think things should be just dandy only 13yrs after apartheid ended officially.

More than 100 people not only did the same thing but made it a form of government in South Africa for about 50 years. It was called Apartheid and rightly classified as a crime against humanity. Any racist is despicable, regardless of his/her skin colour.

I'm proud of the things I've achieved using my own skills and knowledge - the things I have control over. I had no control over the colour of my skin - it's not my achievement. I didn't work to be darker skinned nor did it take an application of my knowledge to make me non-white. I am human first and South African second, I don't feel the need to classify myself with a coloured, black or white tag.

Proud: where did you hear black people saying "black power, black pride"? Just a point of interest on my part. As for that though, I'm black and have always been proud of it since I was a child. The fact that I come 3 tribes makes me even more proud!!
As for you, why don't you be proud of who you are, your heritage? It is something to be proud of maybe, don't you think? Or is there something that you are ashamed of? I wouldn't be if I were you, I have the South African flag in my house and when I look at it, I don't see just one colour, I see 6 colours!! Why should any race feel inferior then the other?

Proudly South Afran!!!

This is a world wide phenomonon ! White people are expected to be eternally "sorry" for how our ancestors supressed other people all over the globe. It is not accepted for us to be proud of who we are . Even though for the most part we made the world what it is today, even if it was on the backs of slave labour. I say that we should be proud no matter what and so should every other race that exists on earth.

hi, again...
proud, I'm not racist (and I'm black)...except I'm 10 shades lighter, like my avatar shows. I'm not going to speak on behalf of the rest of the black nation or be represented by the rest. I'm Innocentia - period. yes I'm black, but i hate the generalization...its truly deep. and I'm not going to give you the "i have white pals....etc" speech. its simple, I've never experienced racism, i wasn't born at a stage of awareness of apartheid... I'm only just turning 22.
And what i think about the rest who are racist (its just an opinion), i think most are bitter about how they were treated in the past and blinded by that fury (watch home of my skull), and some have managed to pass that onto their children as is the case with some white people. i just firmly believe we have two groups living in this nation. the racists (whether black, white, Indian, coloured etc)....and the non racists who are also of different races... so we cant really pin racism on one group... it goes across all races from individuals within each of those races...

I must sadly say that i agree with your statement. Although one cannot generalise and say that it is all black people, just those who are having a very hard time getting over what happened 10 plus years ago. Seriously people apartheid was a long time ago. When that ended racism should have too.....

Yes they are...The ANC Regime gives them the right to be racits.....
I want to work...but cant find a job because i am told ''you are white...sorry''
and there is not a damn thing i can do about it....

But if i was to say that to a black...then i am on the Front page of every newspaper...and on TV....
And with that sort of thing going on......just fuel the fire even more....

haaibo u got issues neh. Wena are you a Racist? Be proud of who u are, regardless of what anybody says. Y are white and proud of it, I'm Black and boldly black. Gone are the years where one race made the other race feel inferior to the other or ashamed of who they are. Celebrate and embrace who you are, quit looking who's saying what (racist) remarks. If you are not it, don't look back.
