It's American History X - not 10.
It's about a young man in a white supremacist gang who changes his ways. It's a good see, and an emotionally impacting one.
Sit down, unplug the phone, watch the movie.

You're kidding me right! The X in American History X is not the Roman numeral for 10. It is just an X. There are not other movies that go with it or that you need to watch.
That being said, yes it is a difficult film to watch. But it is an important movie. And one of Edward Norton's best performances.
Hey Go To Guy: I don't mean to nit pick, but the Roman numeral for 9 is IX not VIIII (basically it means 10-1).

You can sort of get the main points without watching American History 1-VIIII. The one you should really consider watching though is American History VI, lots of salient points are made during this movie.
The fight scenes alone in American History VI have become sort of a cult classic. The film maker used some innovative camera angles, etc. but buy the director's cut of the DVD to get the full effect. It has the things Hollywood couldn't get past the censors for the movie theaters.
Hope this helps... lol.

The title of the movie is based on the name of a class invented for Danny, Derek's brother, by the school principal or guidance counsellor I forget his title. It isn't 10 it is X. It's only difficult if you don't take movies with a grain of salt. It is acting. They aren't really Nazis obviously. It is powerful and very violent at times but a great film.

There's a couple of realy nasty bits, but if you can watch the Saw trilogy wthout actually being sick then you should be fine. It's such an amazing film that even if you can't handle it you should suck it up and watch it anyway.
And that X/10 part is so stoopid i'm not giving you an answer (plus tons of other people already have)

There were more than 9 prequels to this - the American history films started with 'American History A' so you've got about 24 previous films to watch!

The movie is not a series the X isnt 10 its just like saying generation X. Its an excellent movie staring ed norton and the kid from terminator 2. An older brother gets out of prison for a hate crime and the younger brother looks up to him but the older brother has changed and is not a Nazi anymore. good movie.
