Well my co-worker/close friend is recently going though a divorce. Now every night when we're at work he pours his heart out to me about his soon to be ex-wife. It kills me seeing him like that, and sometimes I really don't have any words for him. Not only did he loose the person he trusted and loved but he's loosing his 14 month baby girl...Please HELP!

If you are good friends, reassure him it is normal to feel "lost" for a while, but you will be constant for him. The losing of friends during a divorce is real, and an additional source of pain and confusion.

Do not engage in badmouthing the wife, as his emotions are very much in turmoil, and it will hurt your friendship. just listen and empathize. And give him some slack for a while in the workplace, his performance will suffer for a while.

he needs a good lawyer to look our on his behalf, and he needs to be comfortable with the visitation being set down or actually fight for custody if he honestly thinks he would be a better parent for the little girl...There are many things to think about when getting details written down in the divorce, and the divorce is final.Anything that he does not agree with after the divorce is going to have to be taken back to court every time he needs something changed...Be sure he gets a very notable divorce lawyer....they know what needs to be done....I did not do this and will always regret it....

my advice is just be yourself and always think that
what ever happen in our lives. theres always a reason
and we only live once in this world so make the most of it is your life.
and going through divorce is not the end of the world and your not the only one.
you never know whats around the corner.good luck

get a good lawyer, don't sign anything you don't have too, and if you don't agree with something fight it, and anything that she agrees too put in writing, and have her sign.
