The original goths were a tribe in Europe, very similar to the Vikings, who originated around the time of Jesus.
In more recent history, the goths development began in 1979, influenced by Punk ethics. Goths branched off from Punk and became a unique identity when the Punk music and fashions diversified.
Personally, I like goths and any sub-cultures. They generate interesting music, art and fashion.

Goth has no meaning. It originated as a spin off from punk rock despite what others will tell you. Originally referred to as death punks they held similar viewpoints but liked a darker fasion and gloomier music. It eventually spun off alltogether when it began to merge with industrial countercultre. I prefer the industrial side to the victorian goths although the latter is most certainly the prettir to look at.
But to answer your question it means absolutly nothing.

I dont know really. I don't understand the reasons or culture behind the whole lifestyle. Forgive my ignorance just thought you may like to know of someone who doesn't have all the answers....lol.
