My little one loves all sorts of different things that her 3 year old sister eats too (but do be careful of allergies first time you give him some of these things and ALWAYS watch carefully in case he chokes). Darcy also has no teeth yet and she loves all these things:

Cheesestrings
Babybel cheeses
Rice cakes
Corn cakes
Avocado
Banana
Mango pieces (very messy)
Broccoli (cooked until soft but not mushy)
Cauliflower (ditto)
French fries (the fat is actually good for babies)
Fish fingers - take off the bits that are too crunchy
Pasta such as rigatoni or penne - no sauce
Meatballs
Wholemeal bread
Strawberries cut in small pieces

And the list goes on! Be adventurous, there is no need to spend lots of money on specialty baby foods - although they do love them and there are some good ones out there - he can eat almost anything you eat, as long as you cut it up for him!

If you go to the baby aisle in your grocery store there is lots of healthy snacks for babies from Gerber some of the softer Gerber graduate foods are great. They have these little fruit stars that are strawberry-apple and veggie stars that are sweet potato My little girl loves them they dissolve fast. There are the wagon wheels and dried fruit pieces. Just experiment but I guarantee she will love them all. She also loves here Cheerios the Multi-grain ones are really good and very lightly sweetened.

Try the Gerber Graduates Finger Foods Puffs. They come in a variety of fruit and vegetable flavors and are in neat shapes for kids. They are about $3.00 a container. My 5 month old daughter loves them. Her favorite is the Strawberry apple

Cherrios were a hit with my kids. The get really mushy in the mouth quickly. Also dry Gerber Biter Biscuits. They are hard so he can bite on them and it will feel good to him on his gums, as he is teething. Just set him in his high chair with a bib and let him go at it. They are slightly sweet and a tad bit messy. Zwieback toast is another one you can get him.

Toast is a fav amongst children, crusts, Cow and Gate biscuits are brilliant! One time I gave the bone of a chicken drumstick to my baby and he loved it! Took off all the bits that he could bite off of course!

My babe loves banana in little pieces in a bowl - she likes to feed herself, sooo independant :)

Also, I butter some bread and put turkey and cheese on it - cut it up into little sqaures and off she goes. Grated cheese seems pretty good too.

rusks, bananas, raw carrots r fantastic, chill them then let him gum away at it, they spend hours trying to eat it so buy the time they get a bit there not hungry any more, so dont eat needless food.
