run like a madman to the highest ground you can find. Avoid buildings because they can collapse.

Tsunami's don't attack. They don't have a brain so therefore cannot make a deliberate decision to attack.
Your question should be "What should you do during a tsunami event?" Well the answer would be to get as far away from the shore line as possible and as high as possible preferably in a strong building.

listen to the weather news during bad weather and if u come to know about tsunami, then just leave the place and carry with u an emergency kit containing some dry food articles and the first aid kit. and if u don't have the time to leave that place just search for a place at a high level and take shelter in a strong building(it would be better if that building is made of concrete).

There are some symptoms you can feel before Tsunami. Some of them are deep sea fish will come to shore, The sea water will reseed , the animals will refuse to come near to sea shore , The water in ponds and well will become muddy if you are aware of this facts you can save your life. Do you know I issued the warning 2 hours before it strikes our Indian coast. It is a sad big story to explain. If you sense earthquake waves do not go near sea.

15 minutes at the least to safe-ground. Best bet is to give up surfing. Move away from the coast. I know, too costly...we all have a love for both. In that case, a huge cost either way...take your pick
