I'm taking Journalism and I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations. Like should I take journalism communications or visual communication instead maybe? Let me know please!

Talk to faculty and advisors in the department. Especially if they've had you in classes, they could tell you what they see as your strengths and could suggest how to focus them toward your end goals.

But your question is comparing apples and oranges. Do you primarily like writing and research? Then it's the journalism track. Do you predominantly like the organization of materials and text on the page? Then it's visual communication. While it doesn't hurt for either group to know something about the other set of skills, they are totally different. Vis.Comm often has portfolio entrance requirements--do you have a portfolio of drawing and basic design work?

Could you talk to alumni who have gone each direction and interview them about what they like/dislike and what was important in their education to get them to their jobs? As a journalism student, you should be an active seeker of information. Go for it.
