computer moniter acting crazy?

can any out there that knows about computers tell me why when i turn my computer on my monitor flashes once then it gos to a black screen and it takes hours to finally work please help

I guess your graphic card is gone.Normally if your graphic card got problem, it will give this type of problem.So try to change your graphic card.

Open up your computer. You know the little screw like things on the side?? once u done that, look and see wnere the blue connector from the monitor connects to the CPU, that is the box u turn on and off!!! Likely u will find that it connects to a card which is connected to the mother board.. jiggle the card adound a bit(not too hard) press it back into it's slot, firmly but not too hard again, and start up . This should solve your problem. If the card is not available and the blue connector runs straight to the mother board, U need to replace the Motherboard.

My bet is either graphic board is broken or screen is broken.

To find out, use a second computer and screen that you know work well.

Connect the graphic board of one to the screen of the other.
This way you'll see what is really broken and then you can replace it.


Other possibility is that the graphic board was set to a resolution that your screen does not support.
But in that case you would see the BIOS being displayed during startup since that is using a very low resolution that every screen can display.

My first guess would be a virus attack. Do you have a good antivirus system on your pc? Failing this, you may need to reboot. Try to see what comes up on your pc as soon as you turn it on, but usually, pressing F2 will take you to the controls. See what you can do from there.
