Have to disagree with you, I like both Linkin Park and Evanescence and it is rare that any song you hear does not have silly lyrics as it is hard to come up with original music that has not been done previously.
I don't know anything about Amy Lee personally, but she does have an amazing signing voice and some songwriting and musical abilities, but that Ben Moody was the real talent behind the musical arrangements and songs that put them on the map and not sure how long they will remain on the map going forward.
If I had to pick the most annoying female singer it would be "Fergie" from The Black Eyed Peas...those songs that she has out that are played over and over and over on the radio have not are only whiny, but have that "nails on a chalkboard" quality and I swear, having wisdom teeth wrenched from my jaw in pieces was less painful than being forced to sit in the car with my 13 year old jamming to that song. UGH!

No one is forcing you to listen to them, I personally love amy lee and linking park i think they have great voices

They aren't all that new really and I don't like either of those bands and haven't heard much recently and I can't really comment. But I think both bands are targeted at preteens and young teens, really. Can't bother listening to them.
