I have just bought a lap top and cannot loginto the web iam connected through a D Link wireless modem router which has encryted security any one have an answer to this problem..... Cheers.... Budds

Hi and thanxs for the answers as yet i havnt been able to resolve the problem....
I have the laptop on my desk three feet from the router and all the bars are green in the connect to window and there is a connection to the net as i have the taskbar icon displaying a link but i still cant open a web page, no go. I have temporarily turned of the wireless connection and pluged a working ethernet cable into the Laptop still no go i have done a sytem restore back to the first day i started my laptop and that was the 27th feb....
I have enabled norton antivirus to run on my pc i am wondering if this is stopping it from connecting to the net as i dont normally use norton i use ZoneAlarm, but i cant uninstall norton because i cant access the net and even when i do on my desktop it is unreadable web link......... www.norton.com/uninstall and none are in english........

Hi every one and thanx to you for your help, and i have found the problem it was Norton antivirus stopping me from accessing the www. After going to www.symantec.com and downloading the norton antivirus removal tool and taking norton of my Laptop it went straight into the internet both wireless and wired so thanx again every one.... Andy

It could be that you don't have a strong enough connection to your router. or you may be losing connection for a second during connection.
Can you once you have page cannot be displayed, type in google if it connects then you do have connection and its just your home page.
If not switch your router of and back on at the mains, this resets it.
Or try closer to your router if this works you need a stronger dongle (wireless card),
or can you connect with your Ethernet cable (the yellow one) plugged into the router and your lappy. if you can = stronger dongle.
If all this fails ring your supplier and have your details with you and your Ethernet cable, You may need to change your settings.
They will talk you through it one click at a time.

mine does this hun try refresh,try start search search internet and see if these dont do it the router has failed to recognise the address requested reboot your laptop and as you do remove the power jack plug from the router for 10 secs and replace.that will sort it hun

go to google and find free download mozilla fire foks and if mozilla can displey thet page I dont know the problem
