I've found that I like dragons with a deep purple or blue.
Then again, black and gold are good colours...

I've been an artist for a long time, the best colors to use is based on which emotion's you want your viewers to experience when admiring or looking at the pieces you draw.
Also when you draw your dragons, mentally offer your creation's personalities for the audience to know and relate too.
Even this, you have to consider colors.
example: a dragon with the personality of being shy an demure, wouldn't have a powerful color palette.
Studying color's theory and color impact, would set your dragon on the right path. Sincerely artist K

Depends on the type of Dragon your drawing.
For example, Mountain Dragons would be duller than a Water Dragon. A Chinese Dragon would be greener than a Welsh Dragon.
Personnaly I would stick with whichever is best for your eye taste.
And what you think looks good.

I like green dragons with orange flames from their mouth.
Orange and green are opposites on the colour wheel, so will give a lot of impact.

You could look at real lizards (think of snakes they have patterns too) and that might help you to decide.
I always end up making my dragons red or green but shiney and sort of metalic. Not that I draw dragons very often LOL.

Since you have several pictures, paint one with red, the other with brown, third with green, fourth with yellow, fifth with black and so on and so forth. Happy painting.
