No more alien junk people ain't nobody going to reach us, help us, or harm us from another "planet". Nothing travels faster than the Speed of Light, if things could photons would, when they are so highly energized from IR wavelength to Gamma Rays, always the SAME Speed of Light, (Constant)

if there was such a thing as a habitable planet anywhere in our Galaxy would be 100's if not 1000's of Light Years away, virtually impossible to reach us, almost by design, we would probably fight with them anyways LOL, better separated LOL

Not to dismiss your calculations and be it that I agree with you but there are dozens of stars that are within 10 light years to us. I agree that we will never be contacted in any of our lifetimes and even if it were possible to approach the speed of light, there wouldn't be much chance of us traveling to any of these stars either most likely the same for the aliens. Consider too that our Galaxy is at best 150,000 light years across. Is there a possibility of other life, I guess sure. Can we contact them? Not reasonably even with the most powerful transmitters. and who would wait 10 to say 20 years for responses? I can see it now "hi how are you?" 20 years later "fine and you?" another 20 "great! whats your planet like?" another 20 you're dead. Great! LOL. Anyway. I agree, the alien debate IS dumb and pointless. Lets get on with REAL questions.

BTW I'm pretty sure he had antennas!

I agree that the closest planet inhabited by intelligent life is most likely thousands of light years away. But the odds are that they are also MILLIONS of years ahead of us technologically. Their science would be as magic to us. What does that mean for contact?

It means that carbon-based life forms may not reach us. But what if they have discovered immortality and have nothing better to do? If not them, what about their descendants? Intelligent computers, silicon based life? That may take the form of "Berzerkers" or self-replicating Von Neuman machines?
