It depends on the terms of your contract. You will probably need to give a notice period which you will be expected to work through unless you want to give up the wages.
If you're role includes contact with customers, say sales or service, you may be asked to go on "gardening leave", which means you have to stay at home for your notice period before you start a new job. This is supposed to stop you contacting customers and taking them to your new company.

As long as you don't have any issues with visas or lack of income (ie you're living on the poverty line) - if this might be an issue then apply for other stuff, tell your current job that you are doing so and line up a new job before you leave.

check your contract ,you may need to give notice. If you dont want to give notice you can probably forfeit the wages in lieu of the days of notice. If you have holiday days owing, they should be paid to you .Its a good idea to leave on as friendly terms as possible ,you may need a reference from them in the future or even to return to work there some day.

Yes, you can quit...... BUT......
If you try to claim benefit (or re-claim after 13 weeks) you will be panalised for 13 weeks. You will only get abot 30% of what YOU are entitled to.
This would not affect child maintanance etc...

Of course you can - but if you give one month's notice (as you are supposed to), then they'll still pay you for that one month.
