Simon dissing Jennifer Hudson and her finishing 7th on Idol, how stupid does that whole show really look after Jennifer has accomplished what she has in winning an Oscar? That's why i don't watch that crap!

Some of you guys are trippin! I never said Simon voted her off the show, but he did diss her and i'm sure he influenced a lot of voters with his negative remarks. And why do you think he's eating humble pie now? He knows he made a damn fool of himself by dissing her the way he did! He basically said it himself in recent interviews. And as far as Jennifer being "boring", that's a crock! The person with the best talent and singing voice is supposed to win, right? Jennifer had charisma too. What was so special about Kelly Clarkson besides her singing voice? Give me a break people, the show sucks!

Ouch... that probably wasn't a good idea, ragging on someone with amazing pipes like that.
Then again, isn't it America that votes off contestants? So really, it's "our" fault that she finished 7th......... right?

Simon didn't diss Jennifer Hudson. In fact, he often complimented her singing. The only problem he ever pointed out was that she wasn't as exciting as the other contestants. And, at the time, that was definitely true. I watched that season (as I have every season), and -- while she had a great voice -- she came off boring. She's obviously improved her presence since then, but that doesn't change the fact that she was not as interesting back then...
Also, as someone else pointed out here (and as Simon pointed out in response to Antoiletta's misguided comparison of herself to Jennifer Hudson the other night), Simon and the judges don't vote people off the show. They handle the auditions that put people on the show (i.e., they picked Jennifer Hudson to be on the show over tens of thousands of other people), but the viewers of the show vote people off with their phonecalls (or, more correctly, vote people in -- the ones with the fewest viewer votes go home). At the time, Jennifer Hudson was not interesting enough to get votes.
Like I said, though, she's obviously improved her presence since then, and good for her. She used the springboard of American Idol to start a successful career.
Before you diss American Idol and the judges, keep in mind that Jennifer Hudson wouldn't even have been considered for Dreamgirls if she hadn't been on the show. No one would've known who she was, and she would've never gotten an audition. So, if you liked Jennifer Hudson in Dreamgirls, then you have American Idol to thank.

Why does everyone want to blame Simon Cowell and American Idol for her not winning? The American Viewers are the ones that vote. Thats the whole CONCEPT of the show. Hello?!!

I seem to remember everyone was surprized when she got voted out. Simon's job is to be the jerk, just as Randy is your buddy and Paula's the drunk sorority chick everyone screwed at least once. But anyway...... Simon didn't kick her out she was voted out. I personally felt she wasn't a good fit for American Idol and has problems changing up her styles. She is great at what she does but seemed uncomfortable doing everything else.

I, like many people like me, know that Simon Cowell isn't that nice. But you do get to see that no matter how harsh his comments can be, he is a good judge, he knows who's got talent and who doesn't. So i don't agree that he is dumb, and he never was.
