I think its great that you speak other languages!

I live in Singapore and I always do a double take when I see people speaking a language that does not appear to be their first.

Like seeing a Chinese person speaking Spanish or German!!

This is funny...
I have a friend who is Pakistani and Malaysian. She is Beautiful, with dark skin, dark hair, and middle eastern features.. She married a man and lived in Sweden, and picked up the language..
She is now living back in Singapore, and one night went out with the girls and overheard a conversation (ha ha ha in Swedish) between 2 men. They were talking about her friend, and I guess it wasn't very nice! Well, she busted them!! And ripped them a new one in Swedish!!! Just goes to show you, you can't judge a book by it's cover!!!

I hope you like living in Japan!!!

I'm in the process of learning Japanese. I believe its a beautiful language, and that the Japanese have an interesting culture, and gorgeous people. I'd like to know more about them. I don't think its weird at all, I think its awesome. Why would it be weird?

It helps you to find jobs...

I live in Singapore where I am forced to learn 2 languages at the same time. However, my parents speak cantonese to me at home. The result? I know how to speak cantonese, mandarin and english. It's not weird at all. Currently, I am trying to learn Japanese. It's cool that you know so many languages.

My cousin in America(she's a mixed white-asian) can speak both cantonese and english.

AHHH....you're so lucky. I can't speak fluent Japanese for nuts!

No, not weird at all. I'm black and I speak German. My little brother is 12 and he speaks Spanish fluently. Whoever thinks blacks can't speak a second language are obviously not used to being around well rounded, cultured, educated blacks. Sucks for them. Have fun in Japan!
