short of standing on street corner and hawking passerbys to pick it up. You could go onto other peoples myspace's and click on the banners in the top left hand corner which lead you to many sites. My favourite is thomas' page editor because it gives you more freedom to make it how you want in when other sites have predesigned themes and backgrounds. A link to Thomas' myspace editor would be in the about me section of some who has used it's profile. But it would be easier just ot google it.

there are many free sites that offer free myspace layouts and codes, like

www.pimpmyspace.com
www.myspaceanimations.com
and so on.

once you go to the site and select the layout you want, you should go to your myspace site, there select "Home'. after this select the edit profile option. At the "about me" section, you should copy and paste the whole HTML code from the website and presto:) you have created a layout
you should do the very same thing if you want to add a different online now signal, contect box and so on... i think this is pretty easy way to pimp yer site, well it worked for me:)

google (or yahoo) search for myspace editors. This should flood you with options of tacky flashing backgrounds and naff graphics galore!

if you realy want to get into it try mike Davidson - hacking a more tastefull myspace blog post. http://www.mikeindustries.com/blog/archive/2006/04/hacking-myspace-layouts
