Generally, the people performing the ultrasound aren't permitted to say anything about what they see to you-they're generally not doctors, and the results need to be interpreted by a doctor. I know, for example, there's a large cyst on my right ovary. The tech at my doctor's office can tell me if it's there, and how large it is, but nothing more than that-not what it means, or anything more. Similarly, when my husband had his ultrasound of his testicles, the tech couldn't tell us anything. We had to wait until we spoke with the doctor. When I have an ultrasound, I also have a follow up scheduled usually a week or so later with the doctor to review the results.

I have PCOS, and it's monitoried regularly with ultrasounds-both pelvic and transvaginal. They give different views of ovaries and uterus, and allow the doctor and the tech to see different things. It has nothing to do with whether or not something is wrong. It's just a different way to look at things.

It doesnt nessecarily mean that something is wrong. i have had both types of ultrasounds done. My situation was a little diff...they were looking for cycts and a flipped ovary. But it really just gives them a different angle...I wouldnt stress out about it too much they are commonly given and mean nothing in terms of WHY they are using them.....I dont know if you mean the dr or someone else trained to do ultrasounds did it...if that is the case they cant tell you anything no matter what even if you ask....Because the dr is the only person who can diagnose you but if the dr did it I would think he would tell you in what direction he is leaning if it was horrible news and if it was bad news they would have a sense of urgency...Relax....Good luck to ya
