can listening to your stereo at home fool you into thinking you are listening to a live performance?

when you listen to your stereophonic equipment at home can the aural experience make you think that you are listening to a live performance even if your equipment cost many thousands of dollars with multiple speakers, esoteric amps and special room treatment for acoustics?
