No way in hell am I selling my soul to Satan for fame and riches. Bt I would anyday choose to be rich and have no fame but then again I think there's fun to be had doing it the hard way and I'd keep my soul all to myself till I think up a better bargain.

But I know this could be a deeper question with soul and Satan being metaphors and not in the literal sense of it and I might write about that when I get more time.

Being agnostic this would be a hard decision. Is there really an after life? If there is then selling my soul would probably be a big no go.

But if i did sell it, what would happen to me? Would i be forever in the so called "Hell", or would i just not have an afterlife altogether.

If i knew there was no afterlife, i would probably sell my so called so, because it doesnt exist.

However, due to being agnostic, the thought of fame is one that could turn very annoying, look at how britney spears is being ridiculed for how she lives her life, if i decided to take a wierd change in my life, and was famous, i might be ridiculed also. Riches however, might be able to sway me in the other direction.

Whats satan to do with it? My soul is not up for grabs but then again someone elses soul would be a different story. I wonder how much i could sell a soul for...

w/e, anywayz, fame and fortune are worthless material things. True happiness comes when you make it come and is not based on how famous you are or how wealthy. I'm searching for that true happiness and have found it. Take life lightly.

Yes.

As an atheist, I don't actually believe in any of that stuff, but should Satan actually turn up and make the offer, that would mean it was all true, right?

The whole religion is so completely messed up, that I wouldn't want any part of God's heaven anyway - especially if it meant spending the rest of eternity with bloody Christians.

I'd much rather throw my lot in with Satan and take my chances in Hell. At least they'd be honest and logical there - even if they honestly want to do me harm. It's got to be better than the tambourine bashing brigade and a bigoted, egomaniac god.

Especially if I got to be rich and famous first - just think of all that lovely sin I could commit with endless wealth and influence...

That is the whole idea of selling you're soul. If you get rich not from hard work or if you don't respect the money you work for, and like spend it on a life that would eventually would destroy you're social adaptation that is like selling you're soul. You have to make money to live better and to evolve...but that is the point evolve and indirectly help society somehow, with those money...that doesn't mean giving them to charity...but to invest in society...like to make jobs...and promote the evolution to other human beings.

Nah. Fame's seems like a pain (all those photographers, can't just go eat out at a restaurant whenever you want to. Riches are nice, I wouldn't mind them, but I can do without. I'm a big fan of my soul, too.

Absolutely, because buyer should beware.... in this case, Satan. Your soul doesn't really belong to you, it belongs to God, who created you. You have control over your life, not your soul. You can't sell your soul to Satan. Of course, Satan can try to confuse you, and trick you into thinking you're selling it to him in exchange for whatever gifts he promises, but what he's really trying to do is just have control over your life by giving you what you think you want, not what God wants for you. Your life choices determine where your soul goes, not whether or not you have the ability to sell it in exchange for a better life. Watch Bedazzled with Brendan Fraiser. Good movie.

Without your soul, nothing in life has value, including fame and riches.

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

No, because if I did it would always be at the back of my mind, that when I die , I would go straight to hell. This would inturn affect my ability to be able to enjoy my fame and fortune, resulting in my paranoia and shortening my life span.
Plus normally, isn't it said that the devil gives a time period on how long you get to enjoy them eg a month. So why bother. Also I want to be able to see the pearly white gates, not the burning inferno of hell.
