besides the obvious fact that some couples can not pro-create on their own. Some people actually do care about the less fortunate.
I'm not sure about the exact amount but I do know that there is a tax deduction for adopting a child.
"the US prefers" are you a racist? how could an entire country lean one way or the other on this issue?

No, that's not the trend at all. It may appear to be so, because very public figures adopt babies -- often from other countries -- but that is far from the norm.
Unfortunately, for the children who languish in foster care here in the states, and in orphanage in other countries, I wish that WERE the trend....

Some people can't have babies. Some people don't want to carry a child and some might not want to go through birthing or health reasons stop them. Anyway, it gives a home to all of the babies abandoned by irresponsible people that don't think before they act.

Thank God for the people who adopt. There are so many children without parents. They want to make a child's life better.

No. There are a lot of Americans having their own families.
Just because it's currently "cool" for celebrities to go to Africa and Cambodia to adopt doesn't mean the rest of us are doing it. They don't represent us really in anything they do.

I think it is wonderful, we have so many unwanted, abandon children that need good homes, we need to take care of the children that are already here to insure a better life for them.
