it happened to me,one of my brothers friends(who is 16) had his hand in the mail box as i was rounding the corner from my jog.I'm changing my mailbox after that incident,an my brother banned him from the house,should i have done more,what you think?

Might be a good idea to ask him why he was doing that. Maybe he is just nosy. Not good but not that big a deal either. Maybe he is jealous of someone. Kind of doubt he was trying to steal mail unless he knew a check was coming. You'd think he'd be more likely to try to steal from a stranger. Maybe he mailed you something he wanted to intercept--second thoughts. Lots of reasons it could have been. Maybe you ought to talk to him unless you already know him to be a sneak thief type jerk. ????

I'd tell him to get a life so that he could receive some mail of his own and then report him to the police. He is probably doing it all the time and you just don't know because you might not be home. Sheesh!!! that's gotta be stopped post haste

Going through your mail is a federal offense so report him to the police and tell the post office as well as they will take further measures. He has no business doing that.

I would confront him directly- maybe he got your mail by mistake and was putting it in the right box. No matter what his answer, I would warn him that it is a federal offense, and if it happens again, report him.
