Does she nap well? If not, push the bedtime up(I know it sounds counterproductive)as she may be too tired to wind down by bedtime. If she is sleeping well during the day, then make sure she has at least 15 minutes of "wind down" time that can be reading a book, singing and rocking etc. You may need to get her more drowsy before you put her down. At 9 months there is just so much to do and see why go to boring ole sleep? Hee, hee;) Oh, and my son is 20 months and I still wrap a blanket around him during wind down time b/c otherwise, he'd move his hands to keep himself awake. He's out of it the moment I put him down, but it does help when we're "winding down." Good luck!

I had the same problem with my daughter. I bought a sleeping bag and since then I have not had any problems but this could be a coincidence? Also, I was putting her to bed at 10pm beacuse I would try at 8 and 9pm and she would not have it, laughing, rolling around etc etc and then I tried at 7pm and she is out like a light by 7.10- the times I was trying made her over tired... sooo it is a hit and miss situation. Maybe extend her bedtime by an hour and if that does not work, bring it forward? Sorry, sooo hard to guess what will work. Good luck and hopefully the cheeky monkey sleeps soon :)

Sounds like she is going down too early. Everything you are doing is great, but let her play a little and then one final bottle or bowl of cereal before bed. At 9 mos, my babies weren't going down until between 9-10 pm, because I was a night owl. They slept all night and got up around 8 am. Also, put some safe toys and books in the crib and maybe she will play with them before she falls to sleep. I also had musical toys and push button things that attached to the side of the crib that they could play with.

Tire her out before bed. I know you say you give her a bath and all that. tickle her just do all things to make her tired. Play her a cd. I play a bed time lullaby cd for my 8 month old every nap and at bed time since he was born. It seems the louder I play it the better he sleeps. when he takes naps I put it on repeat and it plays till he wkes up. But for bed It just plays once. Is she in her own room? Can she see anything from her bed that will distract her. is so fix someof those things. MAKE SURE YOU ARE PUTTING HER TO BED AT THE SAME TIME EVERY NIGHT!!! How long is she up from her nap before till bedtime? Think of all those things.

My 10 month old does this--he just started a couple days ago. What has worked is this: I put him to bed. I go back and peek about 2 minutes later. If he's standing up, I smack his butt, lay him down and say "NO STANDING!" It works EVERY TIME. He NEVER gets back up and is asleep in a couple minutes. If I don't, he will stand there for an hour or more.

What time are you putting her to bed. Try a 1/2 hour earlier, she may be overtired....or you may be putting her to bed too early...my son has been going to bed between 7 and 8 depending on the milestones he's hitting....
