I mean I love to fly and I enjoy the heavenly secernery up from there but still it's by far the most scary thing to be on when something goes wrong..... can it be more safer? without having to pray everytime we get on board the plane?

Planes are quite safe. Driving in a car is a lot more dangerous. You are probably scared because if something goes wrong, there's nothing you can do about it. You should just accept that fact. No need to pray, just try to relax.

We aren't afraid of flying. We are afraid of falling out of the sky when we do fly or being rammed into a building by some terrorist. If that didn't happen every now and again, there would be no fear. There is no way to make it safer. God controls the skys. If he sends some wind, ice, or some other problems, we go down. Good question!!!

I have a fear of flying because the mortality rate if the plane comes out of the sky is about 100%, as opposed to even really huge car pile-ups where most people are okay.

I don't have a fear of flying. Nobody does. Its the fear of the sudden stop when you hit the ground! That's what they are afraid of. :)

It's mostly loss of control. When people feel there's nothing they personally can do in case of an emergency they freak out.
