The long time reciever was released by the saints tonight. Can he do better with another team since the emergence of Cotter, Henderson and of course Colston cluttered and undermined his value somewhat.
Not to mention he missed the last 4 regular season games with a groin injury.
At 35, will he be able to latch onto another team or should he take a pay cut and retire as a saint?

Opinions welcomed please

As a lifetime Saints fan, I was hurt when I found out that Joe Horn had been cut. I know it was a salary cap issue, with him counting for $4 million plus for the upcoming season, but I hope they resign him at a cheaper price. Truth is, Joe Horn is not what he used to be, he's 35 years old and his body is starting to catch up with him. But he was effective both off and on the field for the Saints last season. He has been invaluable to the community in the aftermath of Katrina, and I hope that he re-signs with New Orleans to finish his career as a Saint. He is one of the most dynamic players in franchise history. I would hate to see him go to another team and have great success such as many other former Saints.

With the increase in the salary cap there is a lot of money to be made in free agency. I'd find a new team to latch onto for a year or two to end my career rather than taking a pay cut and riding the bench. Horn still has the cabapility of being a starting reciever and their are teams out their like Tennessee, Atlanta, or Miami that could use him.

Horn did not opt for to take the pay decrease the Saints offered so he requested for his launch. He wasn't getting alongside that properly with Peyton both. If Sean would not opt for him which potential Horn is actual no longer neglected. IMO Joe receives a 365 days settlement for small money from some crew. The NFL is very skinny on wr skills. i can see the Falcons, Panthers and Giants giving him a shot.

I think he can still be productive but I dont think he will get the kind of money he thinks he will. Last seasons injury problems hurt his value and he is old, there is no telling how much longer he will play. Teams that are in a building mode like Oakland and Tennesse are very unlikely to pay him what he will seek because of the salary cap. The only team that I could see really wanting him is New England but we know how that goes. He will be back with the Saints.

Joe Horn is still a good player...I don't think he's the cell phone type of player he once was, but i really think he can be AT least a third receiver on another team, don't be surprised to see him end up somewhere....the free agency is really weak at wr this year, but the draft receiver is shaping up to look pretty good...I think that a team like Atlanta or someone out there will suit him rather well...if you look at the Cowboys Terry Glenn, he had huge seasons, then injuries in green bay, and sneaks to the cowboys and becomes a great second threat to TO /Keyshawn. I would expect him to be like that...i do think his big days are over though...Sean Payton is moving that team in a different direction...

This was a terrible move on the Saints part. Not only was he still our best receiver, but he, Deuce, and a few others were the ones battling with the Saints when their season went 3-13. If all else failed cut Reggie Bush's pay. The guy didn't even do anything significant for us except for one long touchdown in the NFC championship.

I don't know but if he doesn't want to go back to the Saints then maybe he should look at the Patriots. Might not make as much still but could be a great WR for them, even if he wouldn't be a number one elsewhere he could probably be a number one there.

Salary cap reasons. Wish Atlanta could work out a 1-2 year deal for him.

He was a good player in NO but they will get a WR that isn't broken... He will make good with the Cowboys!

We could sure use him in New England Porter as well but they would never give either one of them that kind of cash.
