Very good question...Often times I wonder what is life too and what is the point of living....For me how I view is that we should live mainly because it allow us to discover new things and do things that we might not be able to do when that time passes. Basically I guess we are here and are living is we are faced with a challenge and an obstacle that somehow someone or somebody wants to see how we will be able to face it and overcome. Life I would say is basically seeing how one will be able to overcome certain events and obstacles and how one will make those things into a good lesson or reach to something that they might admire, care, or want. I guess we aren't really living for someone an actual person but rathern we are living for the mind and how we are left here on earth to face things that will sometimes lead us to frustration but in the end it will turn out to be something good even though we don't see it right there and then.
I must say that is a very a good question to ask sometimes i wonder what is the point of living but I guess everything happens for a reason and we are left here to overcome those things and reach our "treasures". And we got to make the best of everything.

Well, life is what you are going through at the moment I suppose. Why you should live is up to you. Guess you could think that you are already alive, why not just live it out. For whom? Well, for yourself, of course.
And there's no point to it all. I don't think there is any answer to this except that it was all mostly chance but why bother having anything around to have chance I'm not sure.

Life : we have umpteen no. of reasons why we are in this world, from your question you seem to be a depressed person life has not been good to you may be you have suffered a lot in life. We are here to wash our karma's if you go through the karma therapy you will understand and you will take these frustrations and sufferings welcoming as it gives you an opportunity to cleanse yourself a step closer to the nature or the lord. rather than asking why why why ask yourself in oneness how we have to go about with the opportunity what we have got to live as human? Consider our body as a temple and treat it accordingly and you will see the change in you and you will get an answer for your why.

cool down....life is a gift of god. if u can breath properly, see clearly, feel the toch, smell properly, walk properly, and eat everything. then these are the real gifts of life. live for those who live for u.and if u think no one live for u, then live for meeting such a person who has been made for u only.god has given u the birth with some purpose.proove to him that u also can make difference to the world in your own way. start loving each moment of ur life and u will feel tht no one is blessed more than u. all the best dear.

It is a nice question to be with. Because the one who knows the answer never gives you the answer and those who give don't know the answer. The best answer to this question, when it arose in my mind was given in a talk my the spiritual guru, Sri Sri Ravishankar who said , "It is such a precious question - so precious that I won't like to take it away from you. Keep asking this question and continue to find the answer yourself and this can be the very purpose of this birth - finding the answer to this profound question"
This statement pretty much gives the answers (unspoken and loaded statement it is - dig and explore deeper for the hidden meaning behind the statement)

Life is the span in which we have come down to this earth.
We have full freedom to think and decide what we want to become.
We should live so that we have to give back what we got from nature, and family, and society and world at large.
nothing is free... so we have to pay back.. in some form or the other. Obviously we have to carry out what is given to us.
ie to our family esp, and we have to keep up our individuality too.'

Life is our self conscious resulting from memories. The self conscious of man is far much powerful because we can accumulate far more information than any other animal. Because of that we have many more paths to chose and a lot of creativity and that is why we evolved so fast exponentially. Life can be defined simply as a state of animation in any form of matter and that has any kind of self awareness from accumulating information and used in purpose of evolution.

Life is change, metabolism, communication, movement.
There is no 'should', and there really is no 'why' either.
Shake the word 'should' out of your vocabulary, and dump the word 'why' along with it.
Now eat some ice cream, smell a flower, hug a dog, listen to some music, watch a cloud bust - and LIVE.
