Recently purchased National Geographic special edition with a free digital camera at Watson for $49. There is a activation card to activate 1-yr subscription without further payment. I tried calling the given telephone no. on the card for days for confirmation and each time an answering machine replied. Am I being swindled?

I've been subscribing to Ng for the past 5 years and I don't thinkg they give free things away for joining their subscription. They give awa free maps with most issues though. You should speak with them directly at theire customer service number 1-800-NGS-LINE

contact the publishers of the magazine . i should think they would want to know about this, as it will give them a bad reputation if everyone who buys the magazine fees the same.here is the link to there on line magazine.www.nationalgeographic.com/ngm

Maybe you should leave a message and a callback number and see if you get a reply.
