I've been noticing myself staying up VERY late. And not being able to fall asleep.
And I sleep in all day wasting my time.

I really want to start going to bed earlier, but I don't want to use any type of drug.

I have counting problems, so dont suggest counting backwards.
I've tried warm milk, Baths excercise. Nothing.
Any suggestions?

Learn some discipline. Go to bed and stay there until it's time to get up. When it's time to get up, do so.

Force yourself to get up before 9am. Don't take a nap during the day/ Stay awake at all cost. If you start to fell like you might fall asleep, get out of the house and go to a mall or park and walk around. sometime around 9pm or later, start to read a book. Find something interesting that will keep you reading. try a mystery or a romance book or even just reading the paper or a magazine like The enquirer or the star. A book is best because once you get into this routine you will have something around night time to look forward to. even if you stay up late reading, get up early each time and let your body adjust. You can also close your eyes and try to imagine yourself dreaming. Think of what you could dream about. Or keep your mind with a thought long enought to kepp your mind clear of ther things that may be bothering you and keeping your from sleeping

joe said right ..fix a time to go to bed and then dont get up if u r not getting sleep ..just lie down until its time to wake up. Initially this excercise would be tough for you but u will see ur body and mind will in controll soon. dont stop excercises anyway. If u know some breathing excercises ...continue it..Good luck

don't use the computer after 8 pm.
it's a stimulus, and it gets your brain too active.
set your alarm and force yourself to get up and not waste the day away, after 3-5 days, you will be tired enough to go to sleep.

stay off the computer at all hours of the night!

try deep breathing. in through your nose as deeply as possible, then out through your mouth as slowly as possible. it is very relaxing and i use it alot just slow thing down. if you can do this for 5 to 10 minutes while lying in bed it should really help you get into "sleep mode".

Soothing music helps. When I was pregnant with my son this helped me. My OB/GYN told me it would still be safe to take my Ambien, but I didn't want to, but listening to relaxation CDs at night helped lull me to sleep.
