Jeans are not ok at any kind of interview. It doesn't matter if you will be wearing them at work on a regular basis, don't wear them to an interview!
You don't say what kind of job this is for but you should always dress one step above what you may end up wearing at work for the interview.
Nice slacks and a plain shirt [polo, button down, something with a collar]. If it is cold where you live a sweater or light jacket over the shirt is fine.
Good luck!

I think a good rule of thumb is that you should go to a job interview dressed as though you were ready to go to work at that place of business. If you were applying for a job in a warehouse, garage, etc. then jeans might be appropriate. However, if you are interviewing for an office job, a clerk in an up-scale department store, or for a professional position, then you would be seriously under dressed in jeans.

Only if you don't want the job. First impressions mean a whole lot when interviewing. As a manager myself, if I had a candidate come in with jeans and not looking professional, I'd go through the motions and as soon as you left would toss your paperwork in the trash bin. If you want the part, you have to look the part aside from being smart enough to take on the task.

it depends on where you are applying for a job. if you are applying for a job at like wal-mart or something then ya i would wear jeans. But if you are applying at a professional business then i would wear a nice suit or skirt.. etc. First impressions are the most important ones. GoodLuck

No, under no circumstances! potential employers WILL decide you via your visual charm. you have a sparkling resume and be suited for the situation on paper, yet would desire to blow it with the image. hence that maximum folk do face-to-face interviews, so as that they might see the guy and make beneficial they seem to be a good extra healthy for the organisation.
