I know the first CD I bought was Paul McCartney's "Ram" in 1990, when I turned 16. Cassette? I think I probably listened to the ones already owned by my parents. I remember in the 80s a friend bought me an LP of Wham's debut album. I never bothered to open it. Not to be rude, just not my style. I wish I had it now, though. They were fun, and in sealed condition, I may have gotten a good price on it. =)

The first record I actually remember buying on my own, was a 45 of this idiotic song called "Pop Musik" by a one-hit-wonder called "M". I was about 12 years old. I had tons of other records, mostly 78 albums, but that's the one I specifically remember purchasing by myself (probably with some birthday money or some such thing).

I DON'T remember. I'm thinking maybe Helen Reddy, the album with Delta Dawn on it... That was in 1974... it was an LP, 78, I guess... it wasn't a 45...

Lol, the first albums I ever bought were on 8-track. Van Halen, VH II and VH - Fair Warning(the best album btw). I was rich that day.
