Daniel Radcliff says that he is matured and has to do mature characters but that doen't mean to do vulgar stuffs on stage in the dramas. Yes surely he is ruining himself by doing these types of characters It's true that he cannot stay long as the same Harry Potter but he can do good characters instead of bad ones.Hope our favourite star-Daniel- doesn't do such vulgar characters any more.Even without doing such dumb characters he could always get better oppurtunities. With his change our impression about him has altered .

I think we should respect Daniel Radcliffe's freedom as an actor n the fact that he wants to try different roles n wants to secure his position as an actor instead of doing just the Harry Potter roles, to which i must say, he has done justice so far and i have a feeling, he won't neglect the role in future!! As for your impression altering, look at Harry Potter's character not at the character of the actor playing the role!!

uh no. & i hate it when people think that harry potter is the same age & that all these books are just dif perpectives on the same year when they're not...*eyeroll*
look there are 7 years to the HP character. we started when he was 10-11 & we will end when he's 17-18.. each book is a grade at his school.
as for the actor dan radcliffe, he's only a couple years older then the current age of harry potter, which is 16 cuz they're filming halfblood prince (ie grade 6 for harry at 16-17 years old) now & dan is about to turn 18.

No, because he is simply exploring his range as an actor. He needs to survive beyond the Harry Potter stereotype. It's like Elijah Wood playing a cannibal in Sin City to get away from the image of Frodo Baggins.
Equus gives Radcliffe a chance to redefine his old persona and see what he's made of. And he still has plenty of fans.

first of all, his name is daniel radcliffe.
harry potter is a character from books and movies.
i think it's good to break out of the mold. dan doesn't want to be pigeonholed into child/boy roles forever. can you imagine how depressing it would be to be a grownup actor and you can't be hired because everyone thinks of you as a kid character still? that's the quickest way to macaulay culkin land.
