The initial 2001 LS6 produced 385 hp (287 kW) and 385 ft·lbf (522 N·m), but the engine was modified for 2002 through 2004 to produce 405 hp (302 kW) and 400 ft·lbf (542 N·m) of torque. The LS6 was originally only used in the high-performance C5 Corvette Z06 model, with the Cadillac CTS V-Series getting the 405 hp engine later. The V-Series used the LS6 for two years; it was replaced with the LS2 in 2006. For 2006, the Z06 replaced the LS6 with the new 7.0L LS7.
So which one do you "dream" that you have...there are several versions....
Oh yeah....(vortech) you didn't even spell it correctly! The Vortec 4800, 5300, and 6000 are truck versions of the LS1 engine with different bore and stroke dimensions. Most which create 275+hp,the 4.8L and 6.0L versions are iron-block only, while the 5.3L has been built with both iron and aluminum blocks, depending on the application.
Two different engines there sport....LS6 & LS1...pick one! The Chevorlet Vortec is only used in reference to the truck line.
And by the way Jr.....I've got a stock Ducati motorcycle that will beat your dream car in every category.

Probably since my car is like 33 years newer than yours.
Mustang ***** with a can of whoop A** + attached......baby is just made to run for fun.
flow-masters ..&.......yea, I've got that too!
But, I don't beat my cars.... and...you can really only go just so fast before you loose your car and your licenses for speeding. Any thing over 100 mph on most freeways and the cops will pop you black cherry (rare color) car! And you can say good bye to it, not a good idea.
As I said run it for fun....Not to mention there is always some one out there that has a car that's way better and faster than yours. Best to enjoy the ride and let every one wonder just what she really can do!
It also keeps you on this side of the grass (alive)!

i'm guessing he's getting a 350z or something of the variety. Nissan activities automobiles are quickly, and it could be very puzzling to overcome one on a directly up drag race, yet no longer impossible. i've got seen 70's automobiles do 7 seconds on 440 yards. of course, it is going to likely be costly as hell. As for racing on twisties, you're screwed :). If I have been you, i could concentration on restoring the vehicle first, and as quickly because it runs ideal and its in solid condition, you could start to contemplate upgrading it for overall performance

Did you build it or did you buy it?
Or did you just dream it?
Post a few pictures on Yahoo Photos if you have them.
If you have 'em I'd love to see 'em. So would many others.
It's kind of interesting that you didn't say what your gear ratio is, or if you have a posi or spool in the back, or your suspension mods, clutch, or batteries, engine management, or even your cam profile or tire sizes...
