Not just Walmart but other business as well. (please no ranting, just logical common sense answer)

Americans really don't like being told by big brother how to run their life, would you consider this an infringement? Why?

The cost of living will go through the roof. Discount stores will not be able to offer discounts.

Many businesses will go bankrupt and people will be out of work.
(look what happened to Detroit).

Many people don't want unions and don't want strikes by their employees which disrupt everyone ( EX: traffic controller strikes)

Not to mention Union members can't pay their bills when they strike.

You should know by now that the voice of many is more efficient in policy change then the voice of one person. Take labor unions out of the picture you will have individuals unrepresented both in the workplace and in government. Now tell me can you as an individual stand up to a multimillion dollar corporation? Can you organize thousands to protest to strike? Can you yourself donate enough campaign donations, or hire lobbyists to get your issue heard by civil leaders? Take labor unions out of the equation you will have salespeople, farmers, etc etc competing with other salespeople, farmers, etc, etc for employment and guess what the corporation will hire the candidate that will work efficiently for the least amount possible (this is similar to what happened during the great depression).

Why do you insist on defending corporate America? According to Kevin Philips a conservative MIT professor Corporate America have hijacked our democracy and melted it into a plutocracy. This government is no longer run by the people for the people, it is run by the few wealthy elites, the corporations. Did you know multimillion dollar corporations in California pay only an annual tax of $800? How much do you pay?

If you don’t believe me write to your congressman, e-mail them, call them what YOU will get is an automated response. But if you can dish out $3000 you might have a chance to speak to your congressman at a dinner event. If you have more money you might be able to attend private parties.

The labor union does pay employees in times of strike. You know what you sound like you are too young to work, wait until you get your first job and you will experience first hand exactly why labor unions are essential.

Unions exist because there are companies out there that don't feel they have to follow the law when it comes to how they treat their employees. Walmart is a prime example.

Walmart has a well documented history of denying women promotions, not paying for health care while urging their workers to use state funded medical programs, and doing their best to put local retailers out of business by underselling them.

Sad really because when Walmart first appeared they were a great company to work for. When I was in college I worked for them for about a year, at that time, 24+ hours per week meant I got vacation, sick and holiday time, medical and dental coverage and I was paid above minimum wage.

Unfortunately once Sam Walton [who was truely a man of the people] died the company decided that they needed to cut costs in order to increase profits and there went all those job benefits and their reputation for being a good employer and supporting the community.

Unions were deisgned to protect the rights of the worker. Gain better wages, worker protection, health care and pensions. Companies like Wal-Mart are anti union they seek to pay workers what they feel they should be paid.
