He was the odds on favorite to win and he was brilliant in Dreamgirls, so what happened? Why didn't he win?

Actually, two African Americans did win an Oscar, Jennifer Hudson and Forest Whitaker. Please get your facts straight before making ignorant, inflammatory comments.
I was surprised that Eddie Murphy didn't win, but I really enjoyed Little Miss Sunshine, so I was glad to see the movie honored.

I don't know, as I haven't seen Dreamgirls yet. I do know that Will Smith was robbed... he deserved an Oscar for Pursuit of Hapyness; what an incredibly moving film and hands down two Oscar worthy performances from Will and Jayden Smith.

He was totally robbed but he handled it with style and grace. In the the famous words of Flavor Flav " don't believe the hype" even though the media hyped up Eddie to win, we all knew he wasn't. We were surprised that they gave it to Jennifer Hudson. Two African American actors getting an academy award on the same night.....PLEASE the academy is still a "good old boys" institution.

He was robbed. Two African Americans win an Oscar on the same night? Not gonna ever happen. The "powers that be" would never ever give them their props and respect that they both deserved as actors and human beings.

Everybody is saying that but you know Adam Arkin is a fantatic actor too. I remmeber him in the movie "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter". I was young when I saw that movie and in all these years it has never left my mind. I think that is so amazing. His performance was something you could never forget. He is a natural.

I've read in a few places that he didn't win because of his movie Norbit that's coming out. I think it's a stupid reason, if it's true. I do believe he was robbed.
