No, you're not. It's all spin. Liberals tend to be more critical of our country's problems. They're not going to be fixed by ignoring them. Conservatives tend to be satisfied with the status quo because, let's face it, it's making them rich. Bush says freedom/Jesus/9-11 and it's hard and the masses swell with pride at the sound of his sales pitch. It's unbelievable how people still regard that inept moron as a leader when you can almost see his daddy's greedy little hand up his @$$, making his mouth move.

You don't sound like most 'Liberals'. Not far enough out to the left. The ones out there seem so full of hatred there is no room for Patriotism. Look at the 'far left' politicians-- Kennedy, Clinton, Kerry, Edwards (Gore ex-politician) etc. They don't like Repubs.they don't even like each other. Their speeches are full of criticism and hatred. They are always pointing fingers at everyone they think are wrong, even when they agreed on the same subject the week before. They never seem to have any answers on what would work better. Do you usually hear them end their speeches with God Bless America, like Bush does? Negative! Negative! Negative! and actually they are going so far toward socialism that I'm not so sure they do love our country. Not as much as they love power. They spread that attitude on to anyone that will listen to them. You may be a Demo, but you don't sound like a 'flaming' liberal.

50 years ago, liberals were equally patriotic. The liberals wingnuts of the 60s smoked a bunch of dope, had a lot of sex and screwed it up for you. They make you look bad.
Today, what you hear most often is how they want to legalize weed, have the right to abort, and cast as evil anyone who tries to judge them or their behavior. They are nothing but dysfunctional, loud and mean. They are the first to be racist and are willing to lie to get what they want.
Here's a list of lies currently being pedaled by liberals:
America is losing the war in Iraq
Killing babies = reproductive rights
Industrializaiton is causing global warming
Bush cut taxes only for the rich
Rumsfeld cut veteran benefits
It's not murdering old people, it's "euthenasia"
WalMart is evil
The war in Iraq is all about oil
Bush "tricked" Congress into voting for the war
600,000 civilians have died since the Iraq invasion
There will come a time when the democrat party will fall back to being a third party, like the Greens and Socialists. The republicans will have to split to keep a two-party system.
If you love your country, convince your people to stop lying about everything. Some of the causes liberals stand for are good ones, but they muddy their own efforts by being so dishonest. Each of the things that I listed above are factually inaccurate, and the American people are beginning to see the underlying motives of each one.
Why do you think Rush Limbaugh is heard on 800 radio stations nationwide and Air America is bankrupt? Why do you think that there is not a single liberal radio talk show in the top ten, but people like Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Laura Ingraham, Michael Metved, Glenn Beck, and Lars Larson can so easily syndicate their conservative shows?
Why do you think Fox News now has double the viewers as CNN? Why are the nations liberal newspapers losing circulation? Why are the liberal Network news broadcasts all losing ratings?
The writing is on the wall, my friend. America is made up of conservatives, traditionalists, Roosevelt Liberals and patriotic independants. The liberals are moving farther toward socialism and hate-politics, and America is losing interest and distancing themselves from the left.
The ONLY way for liberals to be elected to office outside blue states is to pretend to be conservative, pretend to love God, and to pander to conservative family values.

I knew a few soldier's at Walter Reed who thought that once---not anymore.
The purposeful attachment of anti-patriotic rhetoric from the right regarding Democratic legislation is actually putting even more light on the ineptitude of the President and his (R) machine. Thinking that cohesiveness means holding the party line is nothing more than a further audition for the public to judge as a lack of governing abilities.
Mass deception is no longer a tool..

Crowing about patriotism and ragging opponents who disagree with them by saying they are not patriotic are Republican Values. Insulting our troops (see Ann Coulter and Max Cleland) is a specialized GOP trait that, thankfully, is not wide spread.

Something I've noticed, liberals think there is something inherently wrong with the US while conservatives believe there is more good than bad in the US. Its easier to be patriotic when you believe that it is good not so easy if you think its evil.

"patriotism" as defined by Reps is a Rep "value". Patriotism, as in love of ones country and a fierce desire to protect it from internal or external harm, is a universal value!
Of course, that too, is a "value judgement"....Maybe we ought to just be PROUD of the human race.

Usually the one who says it the loudest, means it the least. Or as Shakespeare put it "Methinks thou dost protest too much." I find Bush/Cheney waving the flag every chance they can while mortgaging our country to the Chinese and opening the border with Mexico for corporate profit.
