I'm glad you asked that. And thanke who_me for your answer! Now I know also. I always shook it off as a slur on conservatives. But being a believer in wining the war on terror in the middle east over fighting them here in America and liberating the people of Iraq in the process, then I fit into that catagory. But I'm not jewish. Wonder if that means I can't be a neocon? Darn I kind of like the name now.

Neoconservatives are typically old era ,starting in the mid to late 60s, democrats who were not happy with the increasing liberal extremists taking over the democrat party and they jumped ship.

Neo = new. So it is someone who is now working for a living and is finding out how much the government is stealing from his wages. Whereas, he previously believed in big government taking from the 'rich'(meaning- worker), now that he is trying to raise a family, he resents the government taking so much of his money and giving to lazy, losers, that he now understands the error of his prior beliefs. Which would be liberal leftists. Liberals have convinced the lazy, losers on welfare that they are dignified even as they give all the workers hard earned money to them!!! The neos now understand the duplicity of the liberals positions.
