When I think about what I want to do as far as careers go... I obviously want to be financially secure, to enjoy life.

However I do NOT want to be a doctor, real estate agent, investor, stock broker, anaesthesiologist, or airplane pilot.

Im really trying to think outside the box...

I've always had a personal interest in the arts, travel, (maybe) interior design.

Or maybe something totally obscure like... working in Italy for a wine company.

Anyone have any inspiring thoughts or stories about how to do well career and money wise?

Jut bear with me on this. when i left school i didnt know what to do. i dropped out of 3 college courses and didnt bother going to university. then when i was 20 i started working for a building company doing basic labouring. since then i met loads of new people and ended up working with someone who builds drywall partitions and puts up suspended ceilings (Ceiling Fixer). i worked with him for 2 years until i felt capable to do it on my own. i am self employed so i dont get paid holiday or sick pay but i have been to holland, germany, france and spain with my work and because i am still a young single lad i have been all over the country taking on big jobs with a big wage. i can earn as much as i want. it just depends on how much and where i want to work. you may just think being a builder is a crap idea but i am so glad i wasnt pushed into college and university by my parents and went in a completely different direction. do not be pushed into anything. it took me about 5 years to find a job i love and i'm one of the very few people who doesnt mind going to work on a monday morning

I've noticed you haven't mentioned pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry in your "box". These are a good pick.
The best thing is, if you continue your education in areas of biotechnology, chemical technology or biochemistry, eventually you could end up working for a wine company (or some other unusual kind of firm) since you gain a lot of knowledge on various subjects along the way.
The best advice anyone could give you is to choose a field that covers large areas of applicable knowledge since you seem interested in many different fields. You really don't want to get caught in something too specific if you have various interests. Or, on the other hand, you might find it more enjoyable to have a less demanding job that will leave you room for your other interests (arts, traveling). However, less demanding and less stressful jobs never pay as well as those that require some larger input.
