I'm Finnish, have blue eyes and brown hair. I just realized yesterday that even though I'm "white," my Italian and Greek friends are also white yet they are so much darker and brown eyes. It's just kinda broad in my opinon the word "caucasian." What do you guys think?

Caucasians from my knowledge are people whose ancestors are from the Caucasus mountains in Europe. From my understanding this was a group Asians that somehow made there way to these lands (many theories developed on how they got there not sure which is correct) and evolved overtime into what is known as the white race.

Yea so are all the other broad terms for the other racial groups. Hell Im Korean and i no hella well that i do not look like Asian Indians but we are all considered Asians. A lot of this broad usages of racial terms came about when there was wide spread racial bigotry in the World. To help secure Whiteness there had to be a collected agreement on who was White. This meant to claim who wasnt white and from there who was left on the list was considered White. This was done for all the races.

For an earlier comment on how Indian Indians (Im guesing Asian Indians) are Caucasian too was cleared up some time ago.

History Lesson
An Asian Indian man challenged the U.S. supreme court saying that according to Science both the Europeans and Asian Indians are both ancestors of the race Caucasian (coming from the Caucascas Mts.). The court declared that NO Asian Indians are not White since they were not considered White to the common man.

there are five distinct racial groups. caucasian, mongoloid, *******, amerindian, and hispanic. the colors they represent , white, yellow, black, red, and brown, have specific physical characteristics common only to that particular race. for example, white, moderate to light melanin production, varied colors of hair and eyes from black, brown, red, blond.
for black, dark, heavy melanin production with usually black, wiry hair, and flattenned facial features.
for red, black hair, reddish-brown skin and flattened foreheads and broad nose.
for yellow, light white to yellowish skin, slanted eyes, dark, usually black straight hair.
for white, dark brown, red and blonde hair, light to olive skin with light melanin, brown green, blue and hazel eyes, with elongated noses and slightly elongated facial features.
skin tone is usually a product of millenia of living in a given latitude such as the mediterranean, africa, asia, south america, and north america, and diet.
while the various races ate some similar foods, the amounts and types of food play a big part in how the race developed.

In the US, ppl talk about the Blacks and the Whites. This is not the case in Europe where ppl are very conscious of nationality (French, Dutch, English, etc.) and they do not see the "Whites" as one group. In any case ppl are always subdividing themselves (in Italy, it's northern Italy and souther Italy; in England, it's ppl from Cornwall and ppl from London; in TN, it's eastern TN and western TN, etc., etc.).
