How come? what's the new inovation from harpsichord and clapsichord in piano? Thanxxx

both clavichord and harpsichord used feather quills to pluck the strings inside the box. They were delicate and fragile, didn't last too long, and went out of tune rather easily. People wanted something more durable, and eventually, after experimenting with all sorts of ideas, the feather quills were replaced by little felt covered hammers. This led to the Hammerklavier, which led to the modern piano.
