One of the most interesting parts of a very sad time in Global Affairs was when General Yamashita Tomoyuki was found guilty of War Crimes and sentenced to death for the acts of his soldiers prior to surrendering the Philippines.
This leads to the Legend of Yamashita's Gold. There are still maps being sold today and at least two major digs going on near Baguio in Norther Luzon. Check out the source link below for more information

Hmm... "Interesting" is an interesting word to use here...
If you are interested in WWII, wars, or history in general, though, Japanese occupation of the Philippines IS very interesting.
I think one of the most interesting things about the Japanese occupation of the Philippines is that in other nations, like Indochina (Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam), Indonesia, etc. the Japanese were considered to be liberators from the European rulers. The Japanese encouraged these feelings with slogans like "Asia for the Asians", but the Philippines were different. The Philippines were already going to become their own nation (free from the United States) in 1946, so they were simply waiting for this time when the Japanese invaded. For the Philippines, the Japanese were not liberators; they were yet another colonial power. (After Spain and the United States) The Indochinese were glad to see the Japanese fighting the French, but the Filipinos were strongly opposed to Japan and joined the Americans to fight against them.
If you want a lot of interesting information, books are definitely the best place to go. WWII is a very popular subject.

To me, the interesting part was that Jose Laurel was the puppet president, after the war was accused of treason and of helping the Japanese, but after a while like always, the filipinos forgot about it.

What do you mean by interesting?
I'd find interesting that the Japanese allowed divorce, so for a time many couples divorced (including the late Senator Arturo Tolentino); also that they used "Japanese money", also called "Mickey Mouse money" because inflation was so bad you need a sack full of money to buy a ganta (a small quantity) of rice.
