My best guess is that typically the soap and polish are pretty mild so that they can hit all kinds of paint jobs and plastic and rubber and metal without damaging cars.

It will spray soapy water, but it is VERY high pressure. A lot of the car washes range from 800 to 1000 pounds of pressure. It could really hurt you. The temperature is right around 100 degrees, usually a little less than that but it varies in different car washes. Be careful!!

If you ride through that high pressure water, if you get close enough it can actually penetrate your skin and inject water (and whatever other chemicals are in) into your system

yes it sprays chemicals, and I think you can get hot or cold washes, depends what sort I guess

Depends on what the have it set @ on the water heater! In the winter It may spray warm water and in the summer it sprays cold. And yes it does spray chemicals. DUH!
