Who on earth told you that horrible lie? No, it's not true and don't you believe it. There is special monitoring involved, such as watching how much and what you eat, but yes, you can get pregnant and have children. Good luck honey.

Nope...not true at all. Women can get pregnant while having type one or two diabetes. Sure I am a 27 year old guy, but being a diabetic since I was 9, I know the ins and outs of it all. However, pregnancy with diabetes is a hard time to say the least.

Yes women whom are diabetic can still get pregnant. I have been insulin diabetic for 15years now and i have 3 beautiful chidren.

The most important thing for a diabetic who is trying to concieve is to be fully under control as their can be some complications with the development of the baby in the early months of pregnancy.

So if you are planing on becoming pregnant you need to make sure you are under control. When you do become pregnant your sure levels will change and you may experience alot of hypos and that can be harmful to the baby in the first 3 months of pregnancy.

I would consult your doctor so that he/she can give you a blood test to see what your HBAC levels have been doing over the last 3 Months and so that you can start taking folic acid tablets.

Good luck and i hope all works out for you.

No, diabetic women can get pregnant, but depending on the severity of the diabetes it can affect the baby. Women who have uncontrolled diabetes can have extremely large babies- which can lead to brain damage or developmental problems due to high sugar levels during pregnancy, birth trauma (injury coming through birth canal), unstable sugar level at birth, respiratory problems (trouble breathing) due to sugar instability, among other problems. So, if you are diabetic, talk to your doctor about safely carrying your baby. Make sure your diabetes is controlled and you are eating healthy and at a healthy weight before you conceive. Pregnancy causes a lot of stress on a woman's body and it can put her health at risk also. It is NOT safe for ALL diabetic women to get pregnant, contrary to what other people have replied on this page.

A diabetic woman CAN have children, though there are usually some complications. My best friend's mom is diabetic and obviously had my best friend...although she had her two months early due to complications from diabetes (but diabetics often have larger babies, so my bff was actually over 7 lbs. at birth). And my Grandma is diabetic and had EIGHT kids...all of them were born early (but none earlier than 7 weeks early).
And some pregnant women develop a type of diabetes during their pregnancy. I did--I had gestational diabetes during my pregnancy.

No, its not true. Its completely possible. If a person is diabetic and wants to become pregnant, they should first check with their doctor about health regulations like diet, sugar control, etc.
