Is there a difference in how a baby will sleep or feel satisfied if given single or whole grain rice cereal in their bottle? I have tried organic whole grain rice, but noted there is a single grain rice available.

You really shouldn't give babies cereal in their bottles. If they are not old enough to eat cereal with a spoon, they're really too young for cereal.

However, my niece got cereal in her bottle, and she was given single grain rice cereal. If you DO add cereal to the bottle, single grain would be your best bet, because you want to minimize the chances of digestive problems or allergies.

You shouldn't give the baby rice in the bottle. It won't help the baby sleep. Babies need the nutrients in the milk. The rice cereal is easy on the tummy and is a good first solid to start at 4 mos. It is for fun and experience then, not for nutrition. To get your angel to sleep longer at night. Give the baby the last two feedings closer together before bed, or add another. Make sure they are breastmilk or formula only.

Rice is more gentler on the tummy than other baby cereal and more easily to digest....
