I'm sure you already know this, but once his little tummy is mature enough to hold him over for more than 2 hours. He's growing right now and needs to eat that often. Mine started sleeping though the night at about 3 months. Just sleep when he sleeps and you'll be fine.

Really can't say, all babies are different. My daughter was about 2-2 1/2 months when she started sleeping through the night and my son was sleeping through the night by the time he was a month.

Man, the first two months were hard for me, too! By two months my baby finally was sleeping 4 hours a night, and then two weeks later she decided to sleep for the entire night. She is 14 weeks old today and has slept through the night (9-8) consistently. We keep the house quiet, her room dim, and have a humidifier and lullaby music playing. I change her and feed her right before bedtime every night. (I wouldn't advise adding cereal to his diet until after 4 months. The digestive system isn't ready and you can potentially create an early allergy.) Hang in there, before you know it he will figure things out. Just be consistent with whatever works for you.

I would also not recommend not adding anything to your babies diet of breast milk or formula, but I would extend this to 6 months (ahhh the never ending baby advice chain begins! LOL!!). As for the sleeping, like almost every one has said- every baby is different but at the moment, bubs tummy is only the size of his closed fist and therefore digests the formula or breast milk pretty quickly so needs regular feeds. Best of luck with the sleepless nights, it really does get better every day. By about 4 months you may be getting a 5 to 6 hour stretch of sleep- hopefully at night! You just have to *sigh* perservere :)

Some babies sleep through the night after a couple of months, others are still waking up at night after their first birthday :)

every baby is different.......my first slept 6-7 hours straight the first night home and continued to do so, my second was about 4 months.....my 3rd was 2 before she slept more than 4 hours at a time. my 4th baby is now 3 weeks old and sleeps one 4 hour spell every night and other than that is up every 2 hours. it mostly depends on their eating pattern, when they get hungry they wake up....also how sensitive their skin is matters, my 3rd could not stand a wet diaper, she insisted on being changed within minutes of it being wet.....she never ate when she woke up during the night once she was past about 6 months....but she had to be changed.

hopefully soon, right? (my baby is also one month old). they say that once a baby reaches 11/12 pounds that he is capable of going 6 hrs at night without eating. this has never shown true with my kids. my two older kids didn't sleep through the night until they were 6 mos old.

All babies are different. My first slept through from 3months and my second at 3years! Your baby is still little, so give it time hopefully he will start to sleep longer stretches in the next month or so.
