In America (at least in some states) I think it is illegal to marry a 1st cousin. There is also a higher risk of having children with birth defects, physical and mental.

First of all, are you in the U.S? If you are, It's illegal in these states: Arkansas, Delaware Idaho Iowa Kansas Kentucky Louisiana Michigan Minnesota Mississippi Missouri Montana Nebraska Nevada New Hampshire North Dakota Ohio Oklahoma
Oregon Pennsylvania South Dakota Washington and West Virginia and Wyoming.

In the UK it is currently legal, though there's a chance this could be changed due to how common it is within certain minority communities. However, the increase in risk of birth deformities is really tiny unless the same thing happens repeatedly (i.e. you marry your cousin and then your children marry their cousins, etc): the more times it happens within the same family, the risk will probably increase, but if it's only done once, these risks are much smaller than commonly believed.

Here's what I found:

Fact: No European country prohibits marriage between first cousins. It is also legal throughout Canada and Mexico to marry your cousin. The USA is the only western country with cousin marriage restrictions.

Fact: Children of non-related couples have a 2-3% risk of birth defects, as opposed to first cousins having a 4-6% risk. Genetic counseling is available for those couples that may be at a special risk for birth defects (e.g. You have a defect that runs in your family) In plain terms first cousins have at a 94 percent + chance of having healthy children. Check the links section for more information on genetic counselors. The National Society of Genetic Counselors estimated the increased risk for first cousins is between 1.7 to 2.8 percent, or about the same a any woman over 40 years of age.

Fact: Second cousins have little, if any increased chance of having children with birth defects, per the book "Clinical Genetics Handbook”– courtesy of the March of Dimes.

Who cares about the caste. Whether legal or not, It's definitely not ethical to get married to your first cousin. What made you have that kind of feeling for her. She's your sister. Still if you wanna ignore thse social beliefs, go ahead and marry. Later, don't complain if your children bear some disroders...

In India it is perfectly acceptable, I believe, in some communities to marry your "cross cousin." This would be either your mother's brother's daughter or your father's sister's daughter. As this girl is not a cross cousin but is instead a direct cousin - she will be seen by your family as your actual sister and I don't think they will approve of a marriage.

Sorry.

no you cant marry her.Because she is the daughter of your mothers elder sister. That means she is your sister as far as the relationship and age is considered.Frankly speaking i dont know law to say that your marrage with that girl will be legal or illegal but i can say no one will approve this.It will be socially illegal.Hey man forget about cast, love does not look cast.My frank opinion to you ,love that girl like your sister.Ok. If she was the daughter of your mothers brother then it was ok.if you marry her the child born to you will have physical problems.

Acc to Hindu culture no1 can marry in his/her cousins. Becoz cousins are just considered as real brother or sister. Acc to law if you are 18 or above U can marry any1. But I am not sure is there any law against marrying in cousins. Better consult any advocate or some1.

Basically in India people never except it. there is no rule behind it but u will be treated as brother n sister, b'coz ur mom and her mom has a blood relation, so vice versa u both are in blood relation not directly but indirectly. In these type of relationships, mostly problem which arouse is that ur kids can have some medical problem.

but u know wat pyar kiya to darna kya!!!!

u have to decide ur both parents will surely not accept it.
