This was their first year without G-Mac, and even then Syracuse bowed out in the first round the past two years after winning the Big East Tournament. After beating Georgetown, which is arguably one of the top teams capable of winning the title, does this years team have what it takes to dance again? That is assuming they are in the field of 65.

That win over Georgetown gave them a good chance of getting in the tourney. Luckily for them they have peaked around the right time and are on a 5 game win streak. They do finish AT Villanova, which is probably going to be a very tough game that will come down to guard play. Right now, they are predicted as an 8 seed, though if they lose to Nova and then exit in the first round of the tourney, they could slip to 10-11. On the other side, winning the tourney would do wonders for their title hopes, probably putting them at a 5-6 seed. They are only 2-4 against top 25 competition, however. The matchups for the NCAA tournament are pretty much going to define how far they go; if they have to go up against a team that is physical inside and can run, it's going to be trouble for them. They lost to Pitt and OkSt, who have a couple of good big men in Gray and Boggan. If they get a draw against a mid-major, they should be able to advance to the round of 32 (however they did lose to WichSt earlier in the year, though they are playing better now). In all honesty I don't think Syracuse will make the Sweet 16, but it's the NCAA tournament, who knows? Nichols is going to have to carry them on his back; they will go as far as he takes them.

I am from upstate NY. My opinion on my Orange team is that they could do pretty good in the Tourney. Don't count em out til you have to. They will be be in it for sure. GO ORANGE GO !!!!!! I just hope they go far. I can't tell you how far I think they will go because they just do the opposite of what I think. The game against Georgetown had me pacing my kitchen until they were up with only one minute to go. When I think they will lose, they win and when I think they will win they lose. I just hope they do their best.

not good ok i have to say there is about a 1 in a million chance, they dont have nearly enough weapons, can they really beat ucla, osu, wisconsin, florida, kansas, memphis, unc, kansas bcuz u have to imagine that to get there they have to beat at least a couple really good teams and i dont forsee them being able to beat anyone above a 5 seed but you never know theres always a chance
