Hey,
I'm not sure exactly what drugs you're talking about, but there are drugs that can increase the ability to focus and pay attention.
Stimulant Drugs that can make this effect:
Adderall (2 parts dextroamphetamine/2 part levoamphetamine
Ritalin (methylphenadate)
Concerta (and extended release form of methylphenadate)
Dexedrine or Dextrostat (dextroamphetamine)
Desoxyn (methamphetamine) - very rare. Is very strong.
Some NON-Stimulant Drugs that can enhance concentration are:
Wellbutrin XL
Strattera
These medications can only be legally obtained with a prescription, usually with a diagnosis of ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).
Advantages of using "smart drugs:"
- Enhanced concentration, attention span, and focus.
- Increased interest in school work, chores, work, etc...
- Better grades.
- The ability to think MUCH clearer.
Disadvantages of "smart drugs:"
- Have the potention to be addictive.
- You can become dependant on the medication.
- Some of them are apetite supressants, so you could lose a lot of weight. (stimulants were actually once prescribed for weight loss)
- Insomnia
- Other adverse side-effects.
The name "smart drugs" isn't very accurate. They're not going to just "make" you smart. You still have to do work.
I hope some of this helps!

You don't need drugs to make you smarter you simply have to use your brain and eat a well balanced diet. The more you challenge your mind the more intelligent you will become. Reading books is a effective & entertaining way even if it is just fiction because you will have to imangine the imagery that is described in the words. But if you are looking for an extra edge you can try taking cod liver oil, it has many natral nutients that engurage the devlopment of your brain and is recomended by doctors.
Don't take any drugs that effect the brain without consalting a doctor.

All drugs do is burn up brain cells. The more you use the drug, the more brain cells you don't have. Then there's the possibility of Overdosing. It just seems less complicated not to take Drugs in the first place. People may say there are smart drugs, but they only want to get you hooked so you'll be dependent on them for your supply.

Smart drugs??? Weird. Never heard of them. But, you could try vitamin suppliments. Bee Pollen, Ginseng, B Complex are a few. Another great one is the Omega 3-6-9. Visit a health food store. They will give you all the info you need.
