Islam started out with violence, Mohammed himself leading armies, forcing people in North Africa and the Middle East to convert at the edge of a sword? I am not saying all Muslims are bad, just the ones who will blow themselves up to kill innocents.

Because History has become about Political Correctness rather than the study of actual events.
Yes the Crusades were terrible, there were atrocities committed on both sides. But the Muslims were definately NOT innocent.
The Muslim played their hand too soon, they overextended themselves trying to threaten Europe on two fronts. Europe had two choices, fight a defensive, two front war, or fight an aggressive war in the Middle East.
We have a tendency in the United States to focus on our own flaws, and the West's flaws. It's a shame as it distorts our study of history and ruins the lessons that it has to teach, just as it would if we only focused on our great achievements.

Just answering your basic question. But the Arabs never left the middle east (not exactly true, but basically. They were in southern Spain for awhile), which was their home. While the very definition of "Crusade" means to "reach out", or spread. A "crusade" is aggressive by definition, it is an action word.
So if people think the "Muslims" were "innocents", maybe it's because they were at the receiving end of a "crusade", at it's most basic. They were the defenders.

I find it ironic he was run out of Mecca and went to Ethiopia and was protected by angry people from his own tribe who pursued him to Ethiopie but he was protected by the Ethiopians.
Funny that Ethiopians are mostly still christians today and recently had to route Al'Queda terrorits from Somalia.

i'm a canadian white woman, I and an stunning style of non muslims here do not hate muslims, infact I even had one bypass away a suitcase in my place of work and say it became a bomb because of the fact he have been given right into a combat with my jewish boss, I nevertheless do not hate muslims. I hate suicide bombers who're to stupid to %. a aim that surely hurts undesirable human beings and particularly blow up civilians, those are the muslims I hate. i don't hate the traditional muslim and that i think of the koran is a gorgeous e book.

I think that the real reason is that the people who take cheap shots at Christianity are cowards. They attack those who won't retaliate. Unless it is because they work for the Devil who is the father of all lies and a murderer from the beginning. It is usually the same people that promote the killing of babies in the womb.

They want to whitewash history. Islam was built on blood and violence, nothing has changed.
The Church of Rome wasn't innocent either. They killed people for "heresy", and burned books they considered "heretic"
